Rocna bow compatibility
The Hanse 540 comes with a 25 kg Delta anchor. I wanted a heavier and one of the new generation anchors and still be able to use the folding anchor arm that the 540 comes with. Ideally I wanted a 40 kg anchor as recommended by Rocna. I researched using heavier Delta anchor and various sizes of Manson Supreme, Sarca, and Rocna anchors to see what would fit.
There were not many heavier and better anchors which would fit. A 32 kg Delta anchor just fits into the anchor locker but would need some minor modifications to allow the anchor to be pinned into place. Sarca and Manson Supreme anchors 35-36 kg anchors did not fit, and their next smallest 25-27kg anchors were unlikely to fit either because of either the length of the shank or the height.
Of the new generation anchors that would fit only the Rocna 33 anchor (33kg) was bigger than the original 25 kg Delta and only if the end roller was moved in a bit. Some stainless steel plate was needed to be welded onto the arm to allow the anchor to be pinned in place. I have used the Rocna anchor extensively on a trip to Queensland (Great Barrier Reef) over a 3 month period and have been very happy how securely it holds Moksha in every condition I have encountered so far. I did not feel secure with my 25kg Delta anchor.
